How do I know custom is the right answer?
Usually it is not, and we will tell you. Buy off the shelf when a product covers the need at a sensible licence cost. Build when nothing fits the workflow, when the workaround is costing real hours every week, when the data has to move between systems that will not talk, or when per-seat licensing across a growing team has passed what owning it would cost. Discovery exists to answer that question before you spend anything.
Can we start small instead of committing to everything?
Yes, and for most projects that is what we recommend. The first phase delivers a genuinely useful slice — one workflow, one user group — that you can put in front of real users. What they do with it usually changes what phase two should be, which is a much cheaper way to find that out than building the whole thing first.
What happens if we want to take it elsewhere?
Everything transfers. Source code lives in a repository you own from day one, hosting and third-party accounts are in your name, and handover includes documentation and a walkthrough. There are no proprietary platforms and no clauses making it awkward to leave. That is deliberate — it keeps us honest.
Is AI used in the build, and is our data safe?
AI tools assist with scaffolding, boilerplate, refactoring, test generation and documentation, and every line is reviewed by a human and tested before it ships. AI tooling is not given access to production data, secrets, API keys or client information. If your project has specific data handling requirements, say so at discovery and they go into the written scope.
What about support after launch?
Discussed openly and never compulsory. Options range from a maintenance retainer covering fixes, dependency updates and small changes, through to a clean handover to your own team or another developer. The codebase is documented either way. You are not locked into us to keep your own software running.
