Small Business Website Design — Bridgend, Cardiff, Swansea and South Wales

A Simple Website That Makes You Look Legitimate

Most people check a business online before they call. A fast, professional website with your own domain gives you credibility and brings in enquiries — without the jargon or the cost of an agency.

Why a Website Still Matters

Social media is not enough — here is what a proper website gives you.

Legitimacy

People check you online before they call. A proper website with a real domain and a business email address signals you are an established business, not a hobby. Social media alone leaves you looking temporary and at the mercy of someone else's algorithm.

You Own It

A Facebook page or marketplace listing can be restricted, changed or taken away. A website is an asset you control, on a domain you own. No one can shut you down or change the rules overnight.

Being Found

Showing up when someone searches for your trade in your town, and reinforcing your Google Business Profile. A website gives search engines something to index and helps you rank locally.

Answering Questions Before You're Asked

Opening hours, service areas, what you do and don't do, prices or price ranges if you want them shown, and how to reach you. Fewer time-wasting phone calls, and customers arrive better informed.

How a Simple Site Brings You Enquiries

A clear headline, obvious ways to contact you, and trust signals — that is the formula.

Clear Headline

A headline that says exactly what you do and where you do it. Search engines and customers both need to know within seconds whether you serve them.

Obvious Ways to Contact You

Tap-to-call buttons on mobile, a short contact form that goes to your inbox, WhatsApp or email links. Make it easy to reach you or people will move on to the next result.

A Page for Each Service

Plumbers need separate pages for boiler repairs, bathroom installations, and emergency callouts. Search engines match searches to pages — more pages mean more chances to be found for different searches.

Photos of Real Work

People trust businesses more when they see real examples of the work. Before and after shots, a gallery of completed jobs, or pictures of your workspace all help build confidence.

Follow-Up Route

Enquiries land in your inbox with all the details. Spam is filtered. Nothing gets lost in a Facebook message folder you forgot to check. You reply fast and close more work.

Signs It's Time for a Website

If any of these sound familiar, it is time to get a proper site.

You are relying entirely on word of mouth and struggling to reach new customers

Customers say they could not find you online or were not sure you were still trading

Your current site does not work properly on a phone or looks outdated

You are only on social media and feel like you are shouting into the void

You keep answering the same questions by phone — opening times, service areas, prices

You want to look credible when quoting against bigger competitors

Who This Is For

The businesses we build these sites for, week in week out.

Trades

Plumbers, electricians, builders, roofers, landscapers and joiners. Usually a handful of service pages, a gallery of finished work, and a phone number that is easy to find on a phone.

Salons and Clinics

Hairdressers, barbers, beauty salons, physios and dentists. Almost always paired with online booking so appointments stop going to voicemail.

Cafés, Shops and Hospitality

Menus, opening hours, location and photos — the four things people check before they set off. Kept easy for you to update yourself.

Consultants and Professional Services

Accountants, solicitors, surveyors and independent consultants. A credible site that stands up to being checked before somebody hands over a serious brief.

Anyone Currently Running on a Facebook Page

A Facebook page is somebody else's platform, invisible to Google, and gone if the account goes. Your own domain is the fix, and it is the most common reason people get in touch.

What It Costs You Not to Have One

The hidden cost of not being visible online.

Enquiries go to a competitor who is easier to find. Customers shortlist businesses they can verify online before picking up the phone. If you do not have a website, you are not on that shortlist.

Being passed over looks like quiet periods or seasonal dips, but it is often just invisibility. Looking smaller than you are means losing work to businesses who present better online, even if your work is superior. Wasted time on repeat questions eats into your day when a website could answer them once.

For what it costs to have one: our small business websites start at £650, and sites with online booking or payment integration start at £1,250. Full starting prices, including the optional care plan, are published on our pricing page — you do not need to ring anyone to find out whether you are in the right ballpark.

How It Works

A straightforward process — no jargon, no surprises.

  1. A short chat about your business, what you offer, who you serve, and what you want the site to achieve. No obligation and no pressure.

  2. A fixed written quote with what is included, what is not, and a realistic timeframe. You decide whether to proceed.

  3. You send over your logo, photos and words. If you need help writing the content, guidance and templates are provided. Most small business sites need 500–1000 words total across all pages.

  4. The site is built and you review it on a preview link. Changes are made based on your feedback. Once you are happy, it goes live and you get a walkthrough showing you how to use the contact form, update content if needed, and check analytics.

Straight Answers

Common questions from small business owners.

I'm not technical — will I be able to manage it?

Yes. The site is built to run without you needing to touch code. Contact form submissions come to your email. If you want to update text or add a new photo later, a simple content management interface can be included, or changes can be requested and handled for a small fee. A walkthrough session at handover shows you everything.

Do I need to write all the content myself?

You know your business best, so the core content (what you do, where you serve, your prices or approach) needs to come from you. However, templates and example text are provided to make it easier. If you are stuck, a content workshop can be included to pull the right words out of a conversation and turn them into clear web copy.

What if I already have a domain or a half-finished site?

Existing domains can be transferred or pointed to the new site without losing your email or existing setup. Half-finished sites can be replaced cleanly or, if the foundation is sound, improved and completed. Each situation is different, so this is discussed during the initial conversation.

Will it work on phones?

Yes. Every site is designed mobile-first, which means it is built for phones and tablets before desktops. Most small business site visitors are on mobile, so this is not optional — it is the foundation of the design.

Do I really need a cookie banner and privacy policy?

Yes, if you use analytics or any tracking. UK GDPR and PECR require explicit consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you must tell users what data you collect and why. A compliant cookie banner and privacy policy are included as standard, written in plain English and linked in the footer.

Can it grow later if my business grows?

Absolutely. Small business sites are built with clean, maintainable code on modern infrastructure. Adding a booking system, an online shop, a blog, or extra service pages later is straightforward. You are never locked into a platform that cannot scale.

What happens if I want changes after it's live?

Minor fixes within the first month are included. After that, small changes (text updates, new photos, an extra page) can be handled on a pay-as-you-go basis or as part of an optional monthly maintenance retainer. You are never locked in — you own the site and can take it elsewhere if you prefer.
