A Website That Does the Explaining For You

For businesses that do not sell online and do not take bookings, but do need to be found, understood and trusted.

Plenty of businesses do not need a shop or a booking diary. They need a site that turns up when somebody searches, answers the questions they get asked on every first call, and looks like it belongs to a firm worth hiring. That is a smaller job than an online shop and it should cost less.

The work is mostly in structure and clarity. One page per service, so each can rank for what people actually search — a roofer needs separate pages for flat roofs, repairs and emergency callouts, not one page listing all three. Clear contact details on every page. Enough detail that a prospect can qualify themselves before they ring you, which means the calls you do get are better ones.

This is also where the professional-credibility argument lives. If somebody is about to hand you a serious brief, they will look you up first. A site that loads fast, reads well and works properly on a phone is doing quiet work in that moment, and a slow one built in 2014 is doing the opposite.

What a Business Website Includes

The structure that makes a site findable and credible.

  • A dedicated page per service, so each can rank for its own search
  • Location and service-area content targeting the towns you actually cover
  • Contact details and a working enquiry form reachable from every page
  • Photo galleries of finished work, optimised so they do not slow the site
  • LocalBusiness structured data feeding Google's local results
  • WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility and Core Web Vitals performance targets
  • Cookie banner and privacy policy meeting UK GDPR and PECR
  • Content you can update yourself — hours, prices, a new service

Who Buys This

Businesses whose website is a credential, not a till.

Professional Services

Accountants, solicitors, surveyors and independent consultants, where the site has to stand up to being checked before somebody commits to a serious piece of work.

Trades With Multiple Specialisms

Builders, roofers and electricians who lose search traffic by cramming every service onto one page instead of giving each its own.

Established Firms With Ageing Sites

Businesses whose site was fine a decade ago and is now slow, unreadable on a phone, and quietly costing them the enquiries they never hear about.

Organisations and Community Groups

Charities, clubs and community organisations that need clear public information, accessible to everyone, without a budget for an agency.

What a Business Website Costs

A straightforward business website starts at £650 for up to five pages, typically 1 to 2 weeks of build time once we have your content. More pages, more service-specific landing pages, or content that needs writing rather than supplying will lift that, and you get the exact figure in a written quote before anything starts.

Questions About Business Websites

What firms ask us before committing.

How many pages do I actually need?

Usually one per thing you want to be found for, plus the basics. A plumber offering boiler repairs, bathroom installation and emergency callouts needs three service pages, not one page listing all three — search engines match a search to a page, so more focused pages means more chances to be found. Five pages covers most small firms; ten is common once each service gets its own.

Do I have to write all the content myself?

No, but supplying the raw material speeds things up and keeps the cost down. Most small business sites need 500 to 1,000 words in total. If you can give us rough notes, a list of services and some photos, we can shape it. If you would rather we wrote it from an interview, that is quoted as extra.

What if I already have a domain or a half-finished site?

That is normal and usually fine. We can take over an existing domain without any downtime, and an unfinished site is often still useful for its content and photos even if the build itself is not worth keeping. You keep ownership of the domain throughout.

Can it grow later if the business grows?

Yes. Adding pages, a blog, booking or a shop later is normal. Because you own the code and it is built on standard technology rather than a proprietary platform, expanding it does not mean starting again — and it does not have to be us that does it.

Will it work properly on phones?

Yes, and that is where most of your visitors will be. Every site is designed mobile-first and built to pass Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds, which measure loading, responsiveness and visual stability on real devices rather than on a developer's fast desktop.
